Jewelry You Choose Once and Never Think About Again

Jewelry You Choose Once and Never Think About Again

I have a morning routine I protect pretty fiercely now.

It starts in my favorite space in the house - a single room just off my kitchen that has no door. It was previously the Austin Tula workshop. For years after we built the Tula Treehouse, it sat mostly unused. Last year, I transformed it into my Pvolve and plant room, and honestly, it might be my favorite thing I've ever done.

Windows on every side. Plants hanging everywhere. Every single piece of Pvolve equipment you can get. A vibration plate, a Higher Dose PEMF mat, and a red light therapy panel. It's a little ridiculous. I love it completely. I start and end almost every day in there - a Pvolve workout in the morning, an afternoon walk with Willow, and then back in the evening for PEMF, vibration therapy, maybe some red light or a few quiet minutes of meditation.

If Pvolve isn’t already part of your routine, it should be. Here’s $15 off your first order.  REFERRAL LINK

For a long time, I dove straight into work every morning. No buffer, no transition, just get on the computer and go. That shifted about two years ago. Now I take time for myself first. I work out. I get in a walk with my dog, even if it’s while I’m on a call. And most days, I return to my plant room when the day winds down. My whole life has shifted, and I'm optimizing from the inside out - and now I'm ready to do the same for Tula Blue. Stay tuned.

But here's the thing nobody talks about when they talk about morning routines.

The time you save by not thinking about your jewelry.

I Don't Put My Jewelry On in the Morning

I chose it once. With intention. And now it just lives with me.

Through the Pvolve workout. The walk with Willow. The work calls, and the school runs, the kids' activities, the dinners, and right back to sleep. It never comes off because it never needs to.

Right now I have 20 pieces on. Not kidding.

My necklaces have been on for six months. My anklets have been on for years. The only piece I take on and off is my Total Tula - the long metallic pearl necklace - because it's my statement piece. When it's on, I'm dressed up. Everything else stays.

Here's what I'm actually wearing right now.

Necklaces: A large Labradorite Gemstone pendant. An Everyday Pearl Necklace. A custom Watermelon Tourmaline necklace. The Crown Pearl Necklace adjustable in peacock. The Riptide Pearl Necklace is adjustable in peacock. And the Total Tula in metallic pearl - on and off, depending on the day.

Wrists: A Journey Pearl Bracelet. An Odyssey Pearl Necklace worn as a bracelet. A 14k gold-filled triple-stacked bracelet. My 2026 intention bracelet I made at the workshop with Apatite, Labradorite, Peacock Pearls, and Moonstone, to remind me of my focus this year. A chocolate Moonstone Everyday Stone bracelet.  Another Crown Pearl Necklace wrapped around my wrist. And my one non-Tula piece - a Crucian Hook bracelet from Sonya's in St. Croix. I've worn this hook bracelet since I was a teenager, and a few years later, while I was living on St. John, meeting my now husband. I'm not giving that up. Some things are non-negotiable.

Anklets: Right foot has two - an Everyday Pearl Anklet in medium baroque peacock and a Riptide Pearl Anklet in white. Left foot has three - a Crown Pearl Anklet in peacock and two Classic Pearl Anklets.

Ears: Drop Pearl Earrings with gold hooks - I sleep in them (they are that comfortable! I swear, I am a psycho about my sleep, lol.) and switch between peacock Edison and metallic Edison pearls every two to three weeks.

Twenty pieces. Zero decisions every morning.

What Functional Jewelry Actually Means

Most people think functional jewelry means simple. Minimal. One delicate necklace that goes with everything.

That's one way to do it. It's a great way to do it.

But functional jewelry isn't about how many pieces you wear. It's about the decision you make once, and then stop making.

Functional jewelry is the stack you built intentionally and now live in completely. It moves through your whole day without asking anything of you. It doesn't need to be taken off for the workout, the shower, the flight, or the sleep. It just goes.

That's the freedom. Not the simplicity of fewer pieces. The simplicity of zero decisions.

I change my stack with the seasons - when I feel summer arriving, I'll shift to a large Larimar pendant and probably more blush pearls than peacock. When fall comes, I'll shift back. But once I make the change, it stays like that for months. One decision. Done.

Think about how much time that saves over the course of a year.

Why Rope Jewelry Makes This Possible

Not all jewelry can do this.

Metal tarnishes in the shower. Clasps break under daily wear. Coatings wear off with sweat and saltwater. Most jewelry wasn't designed to never come off - it was designed to be worn occasionally and stored carefully in between.

We hand-spin our signature Tula Blue rope from nautical-grade material - which means it's inherently waterproof, not just water-resistant. No coatings to wear through. No metal to corrode. No clasps to break in the middle of a workout.

Tula Blue was designed specifically for this. Jewelry you choose once and trust completely.

That's not a marketing line. It's why I wear 20 pieces to bed every night and wake up with every single one still exactly where it should be.

How to Build Your Own Never-Think-About-It Stack

You don't need 20 pieces. I want to be clear about that.

The goal isn't the number. The goal is the intention behind the choice.

Start with one necklace you love completely. Something that works with everything - dressed up, dressed down, and everything in between. The Everyday Pearl Necklace is where most people start. It's our number one for a reason.

Add one bracelet that fits your wrist perfectly and withstands anything. The Riptide Pearl Bracelet - triple strand, five dainty pearls, sliding knot - never needs to come off. Put it on. Forget about it.

If anklets are your thing - and once you start, you will not stop - the Everyday Pearl Anklet is the one that disappears on your body in the best possible way. You'll forget it's there until you catch it in the sun and remember why you love it.

From there, add pieces when something calls to you. A stone that matches a season. A necklace that wraps into a bracelet. A piece you designed at one of our Texas workshops with your own hands.

Build slowly. Choose intentionally. Then stop choosing.

That's the whole system.

The Time You Get Back

Here's the part that still makes me laugh.

I spend a meaningful amount of my morning in a room with a vibration plate and a PEMF mat, optimizing my biology. I track my sleep with an Oura Ring. I do red light therapy. I am not casual about optimizing my time and energy.

And one of the single best time-saving decisions I've made is just never taking my jewelry off.

No putting it on in the morning. No taking it off at night. No storing it, untangling it, or hunting for it before an event. No removing it for the workout, the swim, or the shower.

It's just there. Always.

Twenty pieces. Zero seconds spent on them every day.

My necklaces have been on for six months. My anklets, years.

I'll let you do the math on that one.
